Gabriella Bianchi

Born to a peasant family in Northern Italy, Gabriella grew up farming and tending livestock with the rest of her family. 
She had a close kinship with the cattle, goats, and other animals on the farm as she cared for them from birth to death. Gabriella learned how to properly cull an animal from her father, working with him to gently let the creatures pass on. 
Eventually, the duties fell to her to, and her alone, to deliver the final blows and others would butcher the carcass. As she would kill them, she would gently caress them to ease their fears and thus they died peacefully. Gabriella would also do this as they gave birth to ease their pain.
One evening she was helping a cow with a difficult birth. As her father worked to get the calf out alive she stroked the forehead and neck of the cow to work away the fear and pain rushing through her. 
The attention that Gabriella showed did not go unnoticed, a Gangrel had hidden herself away in the root cellar of the barn. She watched, and listened, to Gabriella care for the heffer throughout the night and at the end of the night the cow laid its head on Gabriella's lap and slept. The next night, the Gangrel embraced the young woman.
The two roamed throughout Italy for several years before they took their leave of one another.

One evening, Gabriella took shelter in a cave that had once been sacred site in Crete. There, she heard 'the song' for the first time. It called to her and pulled her across the Atlantic ocean to the new lands that the Spanish, French, and English had colonized. She immediately made her way west and eventually came to Portugal and snuck aboard a ship. It made it's way south, to Africa, then to the Caribbean Islands to deliver its cargo of slaves. She fed on those poor unfortunates in the hold but was discovered by one of the crew. 

Gabriella embraced him and had Miguel cause the ship to go off-course and ram itself on a reef late one night. Miguel slaughtered the crew as they worked to save themselves while Gabriella broke the shackles of the human cargo so that they could escape. 

Gabriella and Miguel made their way inland through the swamp to find the source of the song.. they did.
