The most important of the Ambrian orders dedicated to academic studies and mystical teachings. The organization headed by Grandmaster Seldonio has chapters in every major colony of Ambria. As well as a handful of outposts in Davokar. Each of them is headed by a chapter master , to whom the masters of the order answer. The latter are experts in their respective fields such as botany, elvish studies, the knowledge of beasts or magic, and are assisted by a certain number of novices and adepts.
The main motivation of the Ordo Magica is curiosity: its members seek knowledge for knowledge's sake. They organize expeditions to the heart of the mountains and forests, from where they bring back strange artefacts in order to study them to determine their properties and their uses. In their eyes, it is philosophy, and not spirituality, that allows us to understand the world as it really is. This is why the members of the Ordo Magica rely more on experience and concrete proofs than on faith; which very often brings them into conflict with theurgists and the Black Cloaks.
However, this obsessive search for knowledge does not mean that the order is completely cut off from the rest of the Ambrian civilization . Seldonio is fully aware that it is sometimes necessary to call on outside help. Members of the order, for example, need the blessing of Queen Korinthia to freely explore Davokar, money from nobles to finance expeditions, and the Queen's Patrollers to ensure their safety. Moreover, they are not shy about profiting from their discoveries and knowledge, as evidenced by the Vivsectorium of Yndaros, where people can pay to see the mastersperform dissections on anything and everything; whether they are farm animals, enraged trolls or true abominations.
