What the party thought:
The party fell foul of his crew in SY03. Blight Night, Part II / The Mark of the Beast, Part I.
In SY04. The Mark of the Beast, Part II, he joined forces with the party, only to fight them for the skull and crown, but Lanky managed to run off with it, losing Baumelo in the process
They then found out:
The real Baumelo was murdered by cultists, and the leader of the cultists, Odako, had posed as Baumelo, in order to gain easy access to the investigation for the skull and crown.
