The only son of Boras d'Cannith and his late wife Aurora (sister to Felicia d'Cannith), Elias was supposed to marry Nyx Malachan to seal the ties between House Cannith and the Aurum. After this wedding was disrupted by the Jade Foxes, Elias has continued to serve his father - often commanding the airship Maker's Destiny.
Elias is a young noble that lacks interests in politics and the future of House Cannith; he appears to be a mere pawn in his father's plans. When Elias is in Sharn, he spends as much of his time at The Dragon's Horde, a private members club within the exclusive Skyway District.
