The calendar is divided into 12 months, each named after natural events or features of the realm. The months are ordered according to the cycle of the seasons in the following way:
- Springrise
- Bloomtime
- Seedfall
- Brightsummer
- Harvesttide
- Leafturn
- Frostfall
- Moonshadow
- Darkwinter
- Snowmelt
- Stormseason
- Newyear
Each month has 30 days, with the exception of Frostfall and Newyear, which have 31 days. The last day of Newyear is considered a day of reflection and preparation for the coming year.
The year is considered to start on the first day of Springrise, which is also the day of the Spring Equinox. The calendar also includes five festivals, which are celebrated on the following days:
- Luckday (30th day of Bloomtime): A day of luck and gambling, where people take risks and place bets.
- Deepseaday (15th day of Harvesttide): A day to celebrate the bounty of the sea and the harvest, with offerings made to the spirits of the water and the land.
- Feastday (10th day of Frostfall): A day of feasting and drinking, where people celebrate the harvest and the changing of the seasons.
- Beautyday (20th day of Brightsummer): A day of beauty and love, where people dress up and exchange gifts.
- Remembranceday (31st day of Moonshadow): A day to remember and honor the dead, with offerings made to the spirits of the departed.
