This principle requires a Guildsman to always be willing to pull up stakes and leave their current attachments - this can include leaving a location, severing a social tie, taking a new identity, or even self-sacrifice. Any connection is subject to the Principle of Acceptance. But the mission is paramount, and a proper Guildsman is ready to sacrifice for it.
This should not be assumed to mandate an itinerant lifestyle, though most Journeymen of the The Hitchhiker's Guild live in one. Some Guildsmen, particularly Guildmasters, tend to be more sedentary and invest in existing networks or Unknowns.
This is partly influenced by the Buddhist principle of Non-attachment.
