Intervention is the principle of taking drastic but subtle action to affect the course of history at crucial moments. It is described in Rabbit's Guide to North American Travel.
Intervention is predicated on the following conditions:
- There is an observed opportunity to prevent or correct an injustice.
- The projected benefit of taking action must outweigh the expected exposure of your membership in The Hitchhiker's Guild.
- The foundational principles (The Principle of Being Present, The Principle of Being Small, The Principle of Acceptance) are insufficient to address the situation at hand.
