History

A misshapen body, patchy hair, a bulging lazy eye, and cleft palate. The first three are because the process of his incubation was mishandled, but the last was apparently just bad luck. When the clone technicians saw him, they figured he was good enough to fight so he was good enough to not throw into a disposal.

There was enough damage to his brain at his birth that they even skipped his lobotomy and put him straight into training. So he has more of an individualist streak than most Gammas you'd encounter, and doesn't suffer from their Avolitional Disorder (AD). Why prevent a mutiny in a freak you're sending into a meat-grinder anyway?

These aren't normal procedures for a Gamma sector. But NameThisPlace 2, the Post-Imperial Fosterite Society hellworld he came from was in a desperate fight for survival. 

His upbringing was brutal, being tortured by his peers for being a freak. And a freak he was - while not as strong as his peers due to his deformities, he had to be twice as fierce. He actually managed to survive pretty well, with an exemplary service record up until he decided to fuck off.

Everyone he ever knew is dead. He commandeered an escape shuttle to abandon the hopeless war, kidnapping the brothers of his squad for their own good. When they realized what happened, they mutinied and he had to kill them all in self-defense. You try to do one good thing...

Personality

He has committed atrocities, and seen untold amounts of death. He generally keeps to himself but has mostly worked through his PTSD through Psychochirurgy and therapeutic treatment. 

His appearance is generally beyond unkempt, and his manners are nonexistent. He lacks a lot of socialization but isn't hard to get along with. He is not sure what he wants out of life, but for the time being is getting by as a mercenary to make ends meet. Compared to his earlier life, this is heaven.
