The flora of Bodue are diverse, but do not vary much region to region since the biome is largely the same.

Flowering Plants

Fungi

  • Munoyik (Chalice Cap) - A giant mushroom that forms a bowl shape in its cap, retaining a large volume of water in the warmer seasons.
  • Gal (Root Silk) - A strong cobweb-textured fungus that grows in a mycorrhizal association with the Magnacedar. Spun into highly durable thread and cloth, but only accessible from underground. Highly toxic until treated.
  • Iapumine (Shining Berry) - A lichen with small and bland but edible podetia. Very slightly toxic unless heated to an even blander state. Okay to eat in moderation.
  • Nelem (Stereoconk) - A sturdy conk that can grow to about forty feet in radius. Strong enough to serve as a structural foundation, and commonly used as such. Can also support Aibirmany groves and water reservoirs if hollowed. Grows on the trunk of Magnacedars at the sub-canopy altitudes.

Grasses

  • Doruovi (Witchgrass) - Tiny, inch-tall grass. Slightly transparent and dimly bioluminescent. Needle-like blades can easily pierce the skin without even a hint of pain. They have a numbing effect and derivatives are used in some anesthetics. Some primitive tribes cover themselves in Witchgrass, believing it to give them superhuman capabilities. Really, it just makes them glow a tiny bit and does some long-term damage to their kidney-analogues.

Mosses

  • Parnal (Pale Sea Moss) - A bone-colored moss that grows in dense, spongy formations on the Surface, generally between root systems. It is dangerous to walk on, as any surface may conceal a much deeper body of moss than it appears. Once you fall in, the moss lacks enough structure to climb back out, yet is dense enough to suffocate. It may also conceal streams, in the right conditions.

Trees

  • Aibirmany (Juniper Palm) - A fern cultivar with a fleshy fruit that tastes vaguely like juniper. The species grows almost exclusively in Stereoconk orchards for agriculture.
  • Mother Lomoi (Boduan) - Have you not been paying attention?
