Kubiyan is an epithet with various meanings in Haaru Culture.
Originally, it referred to a resident of Kubii, one of the most prosperous trees in Haaru History. That tree would later collapse due to excessive Trunk Excavation, collapsing the tree near the bottom of its trunk and bringing the kingdom of Kubii to an end in an instant.
In modern colloquial usage, Kubiyan is used to refer to a greedy person destined to undermine themselves.
In more academically-based usage, Kubiyan is a reference to the fractious model of government used in Kubii, which abdicated a central authority in favor of federated independence. Kubiyan can thus be considered an equivalent to Anarchist in a pejorative sense.
