Amphibians & Fish

The Boduan Atmospheric Anomaly and Great Boduan Ice Age killed off many of the archaic aquatic species, leading to the modern dominance of mammalian lifeforms. The single medium-sized ocean on Bodue, combined with the instability of inland bodies of water (see Lakver (Rename)) have led to an impoverished environment compared to that of sea life on Earth. The result is relatively low diversity in pre-mammalian lifeforms, an increased pressure towards amphibiousness, and almost no purely aquatic lifeforms. In addition, several mammalian species made the jump back into water, displacing pre-mammalian competitors.

Mammalians

Mammalians are by far the most dominant and diverse clade on Bodue, due largely in part to Boduan Atmospheric Anomaly and Great Boduan Ice Age.

Mammalians are the predominant form of life on Bodue, having two major cladistic divisions: Gravosteoids and Levosteoids, meaning heavy-boned and light-boned, respectively.

Gravosteoids

Gravosteoids have bones much like Earth's mammals, four legs, and viviparous reproductive systems. They are more commonly terrestrial creatures, though many of them are excellent climbers.

Levosteoids

Levosteoids have semi-hollow bones almost like Earth's birds, usually six legs, and oviparous reproductive systems with cloacal anatomy. They are adapted to climbing, and in some cases gliding or flight.
