The South Bay was constructed during the height of the AI Wars, when Merensky Station served as a waypoint for UN military vessels. It was designed to handle much more traffic than the station now sees, so much of the infrastructure is in poor repair.
However, South Bay District is the economic lifeline for the Station, with several salvage & repair yards and trade depots still bustling with activity.
