Tusqualusa (formerly Tuscaloosa) is the major hub for the Eastern Reach, and the major maritime port of Spanish Coast into Bayou Riche. The narrow mouth of the Western half of the Eastern Reach (Choctaw Narrows) makes it easier to patrol, so that area has been more stable. But the relative aridity of the region has stunted its prosperity, so while stable it's not a thriving hub like Shreveport.

This was one of the major immigration centers for Caribbean & Atlantic-coast refugees in the Climate Refugee Crisis. The city is culturally diverse, and the local dialect is a patois of various Caribbean Spanish dialects, Deep South Drawls & Haitian Creole.
