A DNI Port & Coil (colloq. Port & Coil or PC) is a fairly standard Cyberware [Rename] interface device for Head Computers. It consists of an cochlear implant with an AUPM (Actually-Universal Parallel Megabus) port, and a detachable retracting AUPM cord coil. The whole thing is compact enough to be concealed behind medium-length hair.
A PC is an interface device. The only data it stores are the drivers needed to communicate with the user's wetware, and the user's settings. Separate modules are needed to store data or execute programs.
The wetware connections create a direct overlay over the user's visual field (with configurable opacity and layout). Other outputs are similarly integrated with normal experience. Accepts proprioceptive or subvocal inputs. Requires a relatively low period of acclimatization, and its ubiquity is about on par with what you might see of bluetooth headsets in our present day.
