ModDock

ModDock is a line of digital devices designed for versatility, modularity and relative fungibility. They generally carry most of the functions of a smartphone, but have a series of magnetic docking sites for use as a peripheral device. The consumer is intended to buy up to a dozen or more of the devices, using them to enhance the functionality or screen space of a given device.

Most computer monitors have 6-8 docking sites surrounding the screen. When a ModDock is docked, firmware notifies the machine and the device is added as a secondary screen. That screen can then be delegated certain minor tasks: media displays, program control interfaces, video chats, any sort of software output that works in a miniature form.
