Nymph

NIMFA

Nymphs, scientifically known as Nimfa, are humanoid embodiments of the elements, born from the ground or from the backs of other nymphs. They are a wild and free-spirited race, rarely seen in cities and mostly found in their own biomes or tribes. Nymphs have a unique appearance that sets them apart from humans, with their bodies taking on the shape of their respective elements. They may have features such as leaves, vines, or stones embedded in their skin, and their hair and eyes often reflect the colour of their element.

Nymphs are deeply connected to nature and the elements and are highly attuned to the environment around them. They possess a natural affinity for their element and are able to harness its power to produce powerful effects. For example, a water nymph can control the flow of water or create rain, while a fire nymph can conjure flames and control the fire from their body.

Despite their beauty and power, Nymphs are a fiercely independent and solitary race, valuing their freedom above all else. They often have close ties to their respective element and may even form close relationships with other creatures of their element. While they may not actively seek out contact with other races, Nymphs are generally peaceful beings, unless their home or environment is threatened.

Ability Score: Charisma +2 Wisdom +1

Age: Nymphs are born from either their elements, such as a Brunto Nymph being born from a lightning strike being hit on earth, or a Pyro Nymph being born from the embers of a campfire, etc. Or they are born from the body of another Nymph, such as a Dendro Nymph growing from the back of another Dendro Nymph, or a Meteo Nymph born from the gust of wind made by another Meteo Nymph etc. These Nymphs are born as tiny fairies that stay a tiny size till the age of 10 when they start by the day growing bigger and bigger into a larger, humanoid bodies and start growing at a human pace. At age 30, they however stop growing at a human pace and their growth slows down and their elemental growth kicks in. Nymphs can live up to 200 years if not killed or wilt beforehand. The end of a nymph's life is less than dying than a return to the earth to be reborn again.

Alignment: Nymphs tend to stray to Neutral.

Size: Whilst a Nymph grows into a humanoid body, some Nymphs can grow into Large sizes that do not resemble much of a humanoid shape- however these are rare as they are from as Nymphs like to stay 'Staying in the ground too long'. These Nymphs were dormant and still for many years as they grew, creating a larger and sturdier body however usually their morals and ethics suffered and being treated as monsters as they attack when frightened. Usually, Nymphs are more human-sized and moral, tending to go from small to medium size.

Speed: You have a speed of 30ft. When in your natural biome you are resistant to difficult terrain.

Elemental Melding:

As an action, a Nymph can merge with the terrain that adheres to their element. While in this merged state, the Nymph becomes invisible and invulnerable to damage, but cannot take any actions or move. The Nymph can remain in this state for up to 1 hour, or until they choose to end it as a bonus action. Once this ability has been used, the Nymph must complete a long rest before using it again.

This ability can provide the Nymph with a strategic advantage, allowing them to hide and ambush enemies or avoid danger. However, it also leaves them vulnerable to being discovered or trapped in the terrain they've melded with.

The Terrain doesn't have to be its own natural biome or element however must be reasonable. A Dendro Nymph that is specifically a Jungle Nymph can still meld into the leaves of a Pine Forest. A Pyro Lava Nymph can still merge with rocks due to their composition being lava rock. A Brunto Nymph could potentially meld with any object with conductive materials such as metal, giving them the possibility of melding in an interior environment. Etc.

Natural Weapons:

Each Elemental Nymph can have its own Natural Weapon, that can be custom to the character, please discuss w DM. However, here are some examples mend to be used as inspiration:

Geo: U r a rock. Ur natural weapon can be natural body armour, may be slow and cumbersome but rock beats sword.

Hydro: U r water. Drown them by just putting ur hand in their mouth ur made of water. Or know, throw water at them.

Meteo: U r the wind. You could prob literally blow enemies away.

Cryo: Ice Ice baby, stab them with icicles which are also ur hands.

Pyro: SET THEM ON FIRE. WHICH IS YOU.

Dendro: Plant them to death idk. Jk, you could be a poisonous plant and u can naturally release spores or ur hair can be vines and u can choke people w it.

Brunto: U r thunder, lightning, you are very very frightening, you can naturally just emit sparks and then use the environment to ur advantage by electric chairing ur enemies.

Astro: U don't exist.

Religion: Nymphs do not tend to practice human forms of prayer, however, they worship the Goddess Cazadora, the goddess of Nature and Death. They worship her due to their belief in the ever-lasting cycle of rebirth, however, they tend to worship her alongside the God of the Element they stem from. A Pyro Nymph would follow Kaijester, or a Brunto Nymph would worship Farador

Vision: Accustomed to living not as a human but as a natural part of the world, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.

Elemental power: Nymphs are locked to the element of their origin.

Languages: Common, Language of Origin Country, Naturae

Names: Nimfa have two names, first a name in Naturae, that sounds like a sound effect of their element to people who don't know Naturae. Such as a Pyro Nymphs Naturae name could be the sound of a flicker of a fire or a Dendro Nymphs be a flutter of a leaf. The closest translation to common of these names would be an hand motion that looks similar to sign language. Their second name is a spoken name that is usually of origins of the country they are from. However wild Nymphs usually stray to just their Naturae name without a common name.

NIMFA

Generally, Nymphs have slender and agile bodies that are perfectly adapted to their environment. Their skin, hair, and eyes often reflect the color of their element, with features such as leaves, vines, or stones embedded in their skin.

Geo Nymphs, for example, are typically earthy shades of brown and green, with skin that resembles stone or pebbles. They may have moss or lichen growing on their bodies, and their hair may be made of grass or roots. Some may have crystals or gems embedded in their skin, reflecting the minerals found in their environment.

Hydro Nymphs have watery blue or green skin, with hair that looks like waves or seaweed. They may have fins or webbed fingers, allowing them to swim more easily. Some may have pearls or shells embedded in their skin, reflecting the treasures found in the depths of the ocean. Some may be entirely made of water, a body of water walking around in the shape of a human.

Meteo Nymphs have airy bodies that are light as a feather, with hair that looks like clouds or the skies. They could be in the shape of tornados or dust storms in the shape of a humanoid, some Meteo Nymphs giving up their physical body to become part of the wind.

Some may have snowflakes or snowballs embedded in their skin, reflecting the winter wonderlands they inhabit.

Pyro Nymphs have fiery red or orange skin, with hair that looks like flames or smoke. They may have horns or spikes, reflecting the destructive power of fire. Some may have embers or charcoal embedded in their skin, reflecting the heat and energy of their element. Some may be uncertain features of a fire, needing a source to keep them alive.

Dendro Nymphs have earthy green or brown skin, with hair that looks like leaves or branches. Some may have acorns or pinecones embedded in their skin, reflecting the natural beauty and abundance of the woodland. Some could have the skin of tree bark or moss.

Brunto Nymphs have metallic skin that glows with a golden or silver light. Some may have a rugged and sturdy appearance, with skin that appears to be made of rough stone or metal. Their hair and eyes often reflect the crackling energy of lightning, and they may have small bolts of electricity flowing through their bodies.

While most Nymphs are humanoid in shape and size, some can grow into larger and more monstrous forms. These Nymphs are usually the result of staying too long in the ground, growing larger and sturdier but losing their moral compass and becoming more aggressive. These larger Nymphs can take on more monstrous forms, such as rocky giants, sea monsters, or fiery beasts.
