Arata Valadis, The Realms

World

Welcome to Arata-Valadis, or as it is known among its varied people the Realms. The world is rife with life and death, monsters haunt the Eastern Lands as the Old World struggles against new threats. The veils between both the Lands of Shadow, Shadowfell and the Feywild grow thinned with each passing year as the sickly scar of the Great Rift leaks its Abyssal corruption into the lands of the Material Plane. The year is 11:22 of the Heroic Age and the world wavers in the face of all manner of monsters, beasts, and man amidst the night. But the people still cling to hope thanks to heroes, like you.



War and Peace

War is a central theme in the Realms, being so that many kingdoms still find themselves reeling from their wars and ambitions as well as the ambitions of outside factors. Peace, as well as hope, are core themes as well as many kingdoms and city-states within the Realms are vying for peace as their regions teeter on the edge of another war.

The Grand Journey

While the world is dark, it's people still have a bright and noble heart in many parts of the world. While monsters my lie in wait around any corner and the odds are stacked against the mortal races of the Realms, hope is not lost. One person, or even a few together, can shape and change the world in a meaningful way, however hard the challenges may be that lie before them.

The Price of Power

Magic flows through many within the Realms, be it learned wizards, bloodlines of old magic, the gifts of gods to their followers, the power of the truest forms of nature, or new forms slowly discovered. Magic is everywhere. And the scars of it's abuse run deep from the wasteland desert of the Ashlands to the scar of the Great Rift to mountains severed to float from their roots, magic ebbs and flows through it all, and it all comes with a price.
