The Teplo river once flowed south through the basin where Riverbed City now stands. Two hundred years ago, a rock from the sky crashed into the Mantle. The resulting quake redirected the flow of the mountain streams feeding it. The river switched directions and left the ravine behind.
The north edge of Riverbed City is on the Oric border. Unknowns traveling home from Allemance purchase riverboats from the city to take north. Sailing the Teplo is the best way to get back before winter descends on the north. The boats of Riverbed City are considered the finest freshwater vessels, and inland shipwrights often apprentice there to learn the craft.
