Bor'kan was a Ulitharid who was captured inside a magical pocket dimention by its peers. The nature of his inprisonments was unknown but must have been because of his perceved threat to the colony. The orb containing his prison was given to the Champions of the Ankh when they aided the mindflayers charged with his safety. The mindflayers claimed he would be a dangerous weapon against the partys enemyes when released against them.
The party used the orb in a battle against The Wild Hunt during Coldshare a couple of months later. Where Bor'kan where released and used their psionic powers upon the foe with no regard for who was caught in the crossfire.
