Firetide Revolution

17th of Firetide 2717 to 14th of Firetide 2720

The Firetide Revolution saw to the end of the centuries old reign of SunkingHariq Steeleye, and the reformation ofthe Hariq Kingdom into the more democratic Firetide Conclave

Since the Glowfall Cataclysm and the dramatic magical change of the Shu-Expanse into The Hariq desert, drastic authoritarian measures had to be enacted by the Sunking to maintain order and stability in the Kingdom, to help maintain it's limited supply of food and to aid humanitarian efforts in the face of the sudden and violent climate change. This system was maintained for centuries until the new life in the desert stabilized, until a faithful day, after years of corruption and decadence the people and the nobility had enough of the Sunkings and his laceys tyranny and rose in rebellion.

Prelude

Under the terror of the Dragon Ashtaridon the Crimsonspite looming over the Hariq Kingdom the hard earned stability of the desert realm shattered, forcing its king and populace to pay great tithes of food and wealth to keep it's fiery breath to rain down over all the settlements of the Ankh-river, the Kingdom suffered greatly leading to famine and more brutal actions to maintain the tithes to keep the dragon at bay.

In 2601 the Dragon was slayed by The Star Chasers who in turn was celebrated as heroes. As the foreign adventures returned to their own homelands and the people breathed a sigh of relief, but the wealth given to the dragon was never returned to neither noble nor common folk, and in the years that followed the brutality of the previous years didn't stop.

While the unnatural long life of Hariq was often explained by powerful magics or divine action, the hidden truth of his nature wasn't often public knowledge, serving as an absent far away god-king enforcing his will trough mediators and the political elite, the public rarely gave much thought to his nature, while the nobility knew best to not bring it up for their own safety.

With communication opening up again after years of isolation, the people of the Ankh-river looked to new ideas and better times I hopes of bettering their lives under the ancient thumb of the Sunking, and one fateful day in the month of Firetide the spark was lit, that would create the fire needed to create the change that the people desperately needed.

After 940 years since the founding of the Hariq Kingdom, a spark of revolution ignites in Ankh-Morport. After enduring a decade of tyranny and famine under the rule of the immortal Sunking, the population reaches its breaking point. Shocking revelations come to light, exposing the Sunking's court as the orchestrators of organized kidnappings for the sustenance of the immortal vampires' unending existence.

In an echo of The Star Chasers from a decade earlier, a band of new adventurers emerges, supported by local merchants and nobles who were unaware of the vampire's dark secrets. Together, they lead a rebellion against the Sunking's rule. For three long years, blood is spilled in the desert sands as rebel armies march towards Mos-Dunar, determined to confront the vampire lord. The heroes of the rebellion become legendary, displaying their prowess by running on top of the Ankh-river to outmaneuver and flank the Sunking's armies.
