Draconic Origins
Tarketh Dragonkin was born to a family of red Dragonborn in a small village on the outskirts of a vast mountain range. From a young age, he was trained in the art of war and combat, as is the custom of his people. However, his life took a dark turn when Tiamat, the queen of evil dragons, arrived and demanded the lives and subservience of her worshippers.
Tarketh spent years in captivity, forced to do the bidding of the chromatic dragon minions and witness the atrocities committed by Tiamat and her followers. He watched in horror as the dragon queen demonstrated her arrogance, greed, and spiteful personality towards mortals. Tiamat regarded them as nothing more than disposable tools in her schemes, and her insatiable greed for treasure was only satiated by gifts brought to her by her followers. Even within service he was helpless as his family was murdered in front of him, fueling a burning hatred for the Dragon Queen.
Despite her many flaws, Tiamat was a foe to be reckoned with in battle. She possessed the traits of the five most common chromatic dragon varieties, making her a formidable opponent. Those who witnessed her in combat marveled at her ability to coordinate her five Chromatic Dragon heads, unleashing devastating breath weapons and spell-like abilities of their respective species while thrashing against opponents with a fury of claws and tail, which ended in a stinger capable of injecting a venom that caused agonizing pain and death to her foes.
Tarketh's hatred for Tiamat only grew as he saw firsthand the horrors she inflicted upon the innocent. His burning desire for justice and vengeance led him in his darkest hour to pray to Bahamut, the deity of good and metallic dragons, wisdom, and enlightened justice. Moved by Tarketh's plight, Bahamut transformed him into a Platinum Dragonborn, imbuing him with holy power and the strength to fight against evil.
With a newfound sense of purpose, Tarketh vowed to stop the reign of terror and put an end to Tiamat's Tyranny of Dragons. He traveled the land, gathering allies and defeating the Cult of the Dragon and other devoted worshippers, until he finally confronted the Dragon Queen herself. In a titanic battle, Tarketh and his allies were able to seal Tiamat away, ending her threat to Toril and Realmspace. However, Tarketh's journey was far from over. He fought against evil wherever he found it and upheld the ideals of Bahamut. Along the way, he met many friends and allies, but never forgot the lessons he learned during his enslavement by Tiamat, the Dark Lady. He knew that evil could take many forms, and that the fight against it would never truly be over.
A Found Home
As Tarketh Dragonkin traveled through the region of Ten Towns in Icewind Dale, he came upon the small town of Bryn Shander. The town had seen its fair share of troubles, having been attacked by various creatures and monsters over the years. But despite this, the people of Bryn Shander were determined to rebuild and carry on. Tarketh was impressed by the resilience and determination of the townspeople, and he decided to stay and lend a hand in the rebuilding efforts. He quickly became a familiar face around town, working alongside the locals to repair the damage caused by the recent attacks.
One of Tarketh's first priorities was to erect a Temple of Bahamut, which would stand alongside the existing Temples of the House of the Triad and the Shrine of Amaunator. This new temple would provide a place of worship for those who followed the path of Bahamut, and serve as a symbol of hope and strength for the town. Tarketh also took on the role of defender of the town, patrolling the streets and keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble. His presence gave the townspeople a sense of security and comfort, knowing that they had a powerful Paladin watching over them.
This proved to be especially important when Bryn Shander was attacked by a group of Frost Giants led by Drufi. The Giants were searching for Artus Cimber and the Ring of Winter, and were not afraid to use violence to get what they wanted. Tarketh sprang into action, rallying the townspeople and leading them in battle against the Giant invaders. His holy powers proved to be a potent weapon against the Frost Giants, and he was able to drive them back and save the town from destruction.
In the aftermath of the battle, Tarketh was hailed as a hero by the people of Bryn Shander. They were grateful for his bravery and his willingness to protect their town. As a sign of their appreciation, they elected him Lord of the town which was still vulnerable to attacks from various hostile forces that roamed the region. He knew that he needed to build up a strong army to defend the town and its people, so he set out to recruit warriors from all across the Icewind Dale.
Tarketh traveled far and wide, seeking out skilled fighters and brave soldiers who were willing to join his cause. He visited Orcish tribes in the nearby mountains, seeking out warriors who could wield axes and swords with deadly precision. Despite the reputation that Orcs had for being brutal and savage, Tarketh found many among them who were honorable and loyal, and he convinced them to join his army.
Next, Tarketh turned his attention to the Shield Dwarves who lived deep beneath the earth. He journeyed to their underground cities and met with their leaders, forging alliances with them based on their mutual desire to protect their homes and families from harm. The dwarves were skilled miners and craftsmen, and Tarketh knew that their knowledge of traps and tunnels would be invaluable in the defense of Bryn Shander.
Finally, Tarketh traveled to Human settlements and gathered recruits from among the local militias and armies. Many of these soldiers had already fought in battles against various monsters and bandits, and they welcomed the opportunity to join a cause that was larger than their own small town or village.
As Tarketh's army grew in size and strength, he was able to put up recruitment posts to any adventurers that were ready to retire and join in the defense of their new community, while he worked hard to train his troops in the art of war. He taught them how to fight as a cohesive unit, how to use tactics and strategy to outmaneuver their enemies, and how to use their individual strengths to complement one another. He also made sure that his soldiers were well-equipped, with the best weapons and armor that he could acquire.
With his army in place, Tarketh felt confident that he could defend Bryn Shander against any threat that might come its way. He knew that his soldiers were brave and determined, and that they shared his commitment to protecting the town and its people. And although there were still dangers that lurked beyond the town's borders, Tarketh knew that he had built something special in Brynshandar, something that was worth fighting for. He will always remember the time he spent in Brynshandar. It was a place that held a special meaning to him, and he was proud to have played a part in its history.
When Stars Fall
After setting a system of governance into place and electing a capable general from amongst his ranks, Tarketh left Bryn Shander and the Material Plane for the Astral Sea. There was a mysterious thread of fate that was pulling him to the stars with urgency. Tarketh set out on his journey through the Astral Sea with a sense of purpose and determination. He was eager to discover what fate had in store for him and how he could further serve Bahamut. As he traveled through the vibrant and ever-changing landscape of the Astral Sea and its pockets of Wildspace, he encountered many strange and wondrous creatures, from alien beings to powerful extraplanar entities.
As he journeyed deeper into the Astral Sea, Tarketh began to sense the pull of destiny growing stronger. He felt that he was drawing closer to a great purpose, one that would require all of his skills and abilities. Finally, after many weeks of travel, he arrived at a distant star system, where he was greeted by an otherworldly celestial being of great cosmic power. The being revealed to Tarketh that he had been Chosen by Bahamut to fulfill a vital mission: to end a powerful coalition of evil that threatened not only the Astral Sea and Outer Planes, but also the Material Plane. The being portaled him to an alienscape of apocalyptic proportions that channeled atrocities of the Far Realm.
Tarketh knew that this would be the greatest challenge he had ever faced, but he also knew that he could not refuse the call of Bahamut on the day of Starfall as a meteorite storm ravaged the terrain around him. A few steps away he gently picked up the broken and battered body of a small fragile Elf, who seemed to gather all the stars that had led him there within her eyes before they closed…
