Charlotte Beaumont
Charlotte came to New Eden with her mother as a precocious 7-year-old in 2001. She grew up in her grandfather's bookstore, Guttenberg's, feeding a love of knowledge and lore. As a teen, she worked weekends in the shop; summers and holidays through college. Upon graduation, she returned full-time to Guttenberg's, and moved into the apartment upstairs. Her grandfather enjoyed his semi-retirement until his passing in 2020, leaving the bookstore in Charlotte's capable care.
She made few changes as the new owner, keeping the atmosphere and ambiance much the same as her predecessor had. She added online sales, and updated the computer systems to accommodate the ever-evolving business technology. Charlotte began a book club, and changed the store hours to better serve the 9-5 community for evening shopping.
But after sundown, when the doors were closed and locked, and the bustling streets were quiet, Charlotte's night work began. In college, she had met and networked with a group that would, in time, become a powerful organization of hackers and informants. A group that works, to this day, to tear down the socio-political corruption of governments, religious institutions, and businesses worldwide.
And none who see the socially awkward young shop owner by day are the wiser.
...or are they?

The world was perfect. Beautifully balanced. A cycle of life, of predictable ebbs and flows. Seasons that transitioned seamlessly. Beasts of earth, of air, of water, migrated with the alignment of the world's turning.
But Ahrimal saw the signs of change. A chaos that would disrupt the carefully established patterns. But seeing the change brought the change. Attempts to repair the patterns only distorted them further. And questioning the Creator's plan did not go well...
