Mara Jeong was originally Martha Jeong, but found her birth name boring and provincial. When she turned 18 she changed it, distanced herself from her conservative parents in Texas, and moved to New York City where she tried to make it as a fashion model. She wasn't photogenic enough, however, and was unable to get her foot in the door. She then thought she might try acting, but that didn't pan out either, though not for lack of passion or effort on her part. She wasn't a melancholy sort, nor was she especially doom-eager, but she did enjoy the pleasures of the flesh, including the occasional fling with narcotics. One night, at a party, she went a little too far and found herself dying in a hospital of an overdose.


Klepoth the Lammasu never could understand the difference between good an evil in the abstract sense of their fellow Elohim. To her, a thing was beautiful or it was not. When humanity arose out of the maelstrom of life, death, and violence that was creation she saw they were inherently beautiful and capable of even more. A sublime ocean that she could spend an eternity enjoying. She fell because the silence of the creator, and even worse the bureaucratic fanaticism of her fellows, was ugly. Artless, inelegant, wasteful. She was never a warrior. She was never even a passionate partisan of Lucifer's designs. She was merely choosing what seemed right in the moment, what was fun, and what was aesthetic.


Her time in the Abyss was as hellish as you might imagine but upon her escape she was drawn to the final breaths of a young human in New Eden which rose out of her like fragrant incense. She went into this body and took the dying embers of its soul into her own hunger and promised to protect and honor it.

Scars and where they came from: She resents what she sees as the backward and constrictive nature of small town Texas, as well as her parents' conservatism.

Why was your Demon attracted, what redeeming quality shown through that called: She was capable of having fun, of feeling joy, and taking pleasure in the moment without needless reflection.

Music style: Rap, electronic, pop. She loathes folky indie rock with a passion.

Education level: Some college, never finished.

Biggest success in life: Was a runway model for an up and coming fashion designer during her biggest show to date.

Biggest failure in life: Ran out of money and had to leave New York City to live with her parents.

Biggest fear: Having a normal, boring, everyday life.

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning: There's something to be enjoyed every day. Some pleasure that makes it all worth it. You just have to find it and be open to it.

As a Angel what were you in charge of creating: The unique coolness of the ocean that affects all aspects of the atmosphere when you get near the coast.

As a Demon what did you unleash upon Creation: I tried to convince Humanity to adopt my vision of beauty, the terrible beauty of the ocean depths, with all its strange and surrealistic horror.

Why did you Join the Rebellion: Boredom, a distaste for the Elohim's lack of creativity and their distaste (as viewed by her) for the unique, the challenging, the sublime.

Each session, you can call on your Allies for favors of a value rated 1 to 5 by the Storyteller, up to your rating in the Merit. Favors in excess require a roll of Manipulation + Persuasion + Allies.

Embarrassing Secret (Hustling/drugging/blackmailing/robbing men to use them as directed)

A secret; could turn into Notoriety if revealed.
Possible Sources: Any action that has to be kept secret for fear of ostracism.
Resolution: The character’s secret is made public, or the character does whatever is necessary to make sure it never comes to light.
