Izel Perez was born in 1918, in a small village called Sejano on the cusp of the jungle near the DariƩn Gap in Panama. From a young age Izel was told stories of the "Golden Gods" by his mother, these gods in golden arms and plate who saved her when she was a little girl. But as the son of "la loca del pueblo" it was hard for him to make friends or even get work as he got older. So he spent a lot of time in the jungles, gathering anything that could be sold to help support his mom.
Then on his 18th birthday, while exploring the jungle, he heard some strange noises deeper in. So he slowly ventured deeper in and found one, one of the golden gods that his mother always talked about, he found one bleeding out its golden blood into the soil. Izel knew that he needed to help, but the elongated anatomy was... well alien to him, but the golden god knew that this kid was trying to help. So with its final breath it bestowed Izel with the bracers that the golden god was wearing, quickly binding themselves to him, gifting him with improved strength and agility and a golden suit of armour that gives him a jaguar-like appearance. When he returned to his village with golden liquid on his hands, the people started questioning him in search of potential wealth. But when the questions started becoming aggressive, he did as his mother instructed and ran, escaping the village in the night, running for a country that he heard could give him a new life.
His travel that should have taken only a few months instead turned into several years, knowing that he had these powerful abilities and was surrounded by corruption and evil-doers all throughout Central America, he started fighting back. Working all the way from the bottom tip of Panama to the Mexico-United States Border, slowly the myth of "El Jaguar Dorado" began to spread, and when this myth was spotted in Brownbridge, New Mexico it drew the attention of Dr Hardy Weber. Dr Weber thought that an experienced powered individual would be a major asset to the Taskforce, so they asked Izel to join, and at first he rejected the offer. That was until he saw her, Izel was immediately smitten, so he changed his mind only to try to get closer to her.
Following the war, Izel and Ilay got married, settling down in Brownbridge and staying there even after the Taskforce broke up. And while Ilay was busy running a company and charity, Izel took on the role of stay-at-home father for their daughter Norma. But that wasn't his only job, unable to be powerless when wrongdoing was happening around him, the Golden Jaguar fought again, acting as a hero for those in need.
