Dr Alexander Jimenez was born to a middle class family in Dover, he lived a simple and average life. As he grew up, he slowly realised his love of biology and medicine, after graduating he applied to almost every PreMed program within the Northeast. He ended up enrolled at New York University, it was there that he would meet his life long friend and future (sometimes) partner-in-crime-fighting, Harris Florez.
Alexander and Harris were assigned as roommates, and it was there they slowly collected a small group of friends, together the six of them called themselves "the Failures". The name was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that the group always seemed to fail forward. These six became inseparable for their time at NYU, and still keep in contact to this very day in spite of their varying career paths. It was during their freshman year that Harris' own powered gene activated, with Alexander wanting to find a reason as to why these abilities manifested, he focused his time as an undergrad to his future career as a geneticist.
Eventually, he went to Medical School at Northwestern University where he made multiple connections to other future pioneers in the field of biology, but more specifically genetics. He graduated near the top of his class and was offered a coveted position as a Junior Research Geneticist at H.E.A.R.T. Labs. It was here that he joined the 1000 Genomes Project and became one of the two geneticists who discovered the Powered Gene. It was this discovery that gave him the position of Senior Research Geneticist specialising in the field of the powered gene.
He began experimenting on himself using CRISPR-Cas9 to activate his latent powered gene, but his body interpreted this as an attack and began the process of healing. His body began producing brand new embryonic stem cells, allowing his body to regenerate any damaged tissue without degradation, and if needed his body could produce an immense number of white blood cells to fight diseases. But he began to see his city turn into chaos, knowing that he could at least attempt to help, he donned a helmet to protect his identity, as he wore a sword and armour to protect himself. Dr Jimenez took to the streets of Camitay City, taking on the name Axonaut, and slowly worked to protect his city from crime.
Though, while his focus is his own city, he still heeds the call when his friends in New York City need his aid. Taking the first flight there to reunite the Failures when the streets of New York face a dangerous foe.
