Bayani Ahas was born to an single mother who was living on the streets of Manila, his mother was an addict, and when he was barely one, she sold him for drug money. He was placed in an orphanage when he was a toddler, and that's where he stayed, being passed around from orphanage to orphanage. By the time Bayani was 12 years old, he joined a criminal syndicate, his small hands and body were very useful to get into tight places, he picked his surname "Ahas" because his friends joked that he slithered into places like a snake.
When Bayani turned 16, he was approached by a strange collective, a group operating out of Taiwan. He had heard the tall tales of a group known only as "the Beasts", operating as spies and assassins across the globe, secretly taking out those who seek to destroy the delicate peace. It was within this group that Bayani met a woman and fell in love, this woman who used the nickname Fox was his best friend and go to sparring partner.
After almost a decade of working with the Shou, having done missions in over fifty countries, having learned a dozen languages, he was stationed in a growing city in California. He was put there in an administrative position for a company that was working on developing a sustainable gasoline alternative for automobiles, trying to gather information for the Shou. But Bayani grew attached to his life in San Andre, he wanted to see this city flourish, to try to prevent a downward spiral, so no child would need to turn to crime to be able to live. He began going out, using his training to act as a vigilante, using the same codename that the Shou would use for him. When he was finally called to return to the Shou, he refused the call, and there wasn't really anything they could do to bring him back, or the assassins they sent would return empty handed... or worse. The person that was most hurt by it was Fox, she would try desperately to get him to return, doing everything she could to lure him out. Fox was the only person who could get him to come back, but only temporarily, if she really needed Bayani's help, he would return to help her.
He worked as a vigilante in San Andre for a few years, and when he was approached after a man to try and stop the violent separatist that attacked Capitol Hill. Following their success, Bayani joined the team, taking on the role of the go to combat trainer for the Centurions.
