Following the identification of the Powered Gene, as well as CRISPR-Cas9 technology becoming available, there became a not so subtle rise in genetic experimentation. One example in the Powered community is that of Dr Alexander Jimenez, a researcher from the 1000 Genomes Project and one of the two geneticists who discovered the Powered Gene. He experimented on himself using CRISPR-Cas9 to activate his latent Powered gene, but his body interpreted this as an attack and began the process of healing. His body began producing brand new embryonic stem cells, allowing his body to regenerate any damaged tissue without degradation, and if needed his body could produce an immense number of white blood cells to fight diseases. But he began to see his city turn into chaos, knowing that he could at least attempt to help, he donned a helmet to protect his identity, as he wore a sword and armour to protect himself. Dr Jimenez took to the streets of Camitay City, taking on the name Axonaut, and slowly worked to protect his city from crime.
