The Phoenix is the first constellation of the Zodiac Constellations, when this constellation has the brightest star, everyone knows that the cycle of the 13 Zodiacs has started anew. The brightest star of this constellation during the Year of the Phoenix is known as Frumin or the Cat Star, glowing instead of the normal golden light, it has a bit more of an orange shade to it. The story of the Phoenix comes from a mage who made mistakes in his past, a tortured soul whose heart burned like torchlight until he found a way to be born anew with a new group of friends and allies.
I have spent my entire life looking upwards at the stars, admiring the beauty of the golden starlight basking down onto me from a young age. I dedicated my life to learning about these different stars as well as the constellations they make. My skill in the research of these stars brought great interest from the Capital Academy, and they brought me in as their Archsage of Patrons, due to my knowledge of the stories of the different gods and their followers who gained divinity. I've decided to take this journal to chronical the stories that I've heard about the different stars and constellations of the night sky.
There are 25 commonly accepted constellations, 13 of which are known as the Zodiac Constellations. Those 13 are known as such because there is a strange celestial occurrence that affects them, each year the brightest star in the sky is a part of one of those constellations, cycling through each one in the same order. The Zodiac Constellations in order are the Phoenix, the Dragon, the Hummingbird, the Button, the Spinner, the Crafter, the Wheel, the River, the Flower, the Tome, the Knight, the Heart, and the Nova.
The other 12 constellations have other stories to tell, ones of different heroes from Eras long past and myth of the gods and their champions. While having no other significance aside from the stories they hold, I believe that they still hold divine power unto themselves, and that knowledge of every constellation is the only thing that can empower one fully.
