Slinkwight

Beast-kin

"No I can't breath fire or lightning! And no I cannot fly! Stop asking!"

Commonly confused with wyrmwight, slinkwight are simply put beast-kin with a reptilian or amphibian appearance. While they do have magic within them, the same way briddwight or hundwight do, they are not borne of draconian magic. On the surface, slinkwight tend to be much more cold-blooded in their personality than their mammalian beast-kin counterparts. But once you spend more time with one, the more they tend to warm up.

Just like with every other beast-kin, the key thing to remember is that they are not the animal they resemble. You wouldn't put a hundwight on a leash, you wouldn't keep a briddwight in a cage, and a slinkwight's diet is not only insects and rodents. Beast-kin are humanoids first, they just so happen to resemble an animal.

Reptilian or Amphibian

All slinkwight have a reptilian appearance to them. The only physical characteristic that all slinkwight have in common is the fact they all have a tail of some kind. If you find slinkwight in a swamp, you might find they have a crocodilian appearance. While a more arid desert area may have bearded dragon slinkwight roaming. And in a jungle, you may find newt slinkwight near the damper areas.

Additionally, there is one subspecies of slinkwight that has it's own varieties within. These are the snake slinkwight, and while there are multiple kinds of snake slinkwights (e.g. rattlesnake, garter, cobra, etc.), there are a small group of more humanoid snake slinkwights. These folk all have tails, but rather than having a snake body or head, they have a humanoid head with scales or even yellow cloven eyes.
