The area is referred to as College Town by the locals from the time when it was home to multiple colleges and trade schools. Most of the colleges were purchased by a corporation and shifted towards scientific research. The former pillars of education had created enough student debt that it became profitable to leverage the debt of current and former students to create a cheap disposable workforce for their risker scientific research projects.
