Hello Orla!
After spending a real long time helping Dugen argue with some people about a house, I finally went back out adventuring again! Cardinal and Mah’keet (I think I spelt that right) and Edward went out too, and we had a new person called Robin. That’s not her real name, but her real name was kinda hard to remember, and she said to call her Robin, so Robin! She’s a strong Tiefling who is always super positive and happy and I really like her.
Anyway, we went out into the Gloom again. Mah’keet had found the place from his map, but didn’t totally explore it, so we were headed back there to check it out. The trip there was pretty uneventful, but once we got to the crypt, we found some zombie guys outside!
They were pretty weak so we kinda just beat them up easy. I was worried about them getting back up though, cuz like, they were already dead, and then weren’t, right? So they totally could have come back again, probably. But I burned them real good with the Light, so I don’t think they will.
After we beat the zombies, we went into the crypt. There was a blue ghost guy, but Mah’keet said he knew him and they were friends. I guess his name is Kassen and he’s from somewhere not-here, just like us. We didn’t really talk too much to him, cuz there were zombie guys everywhere again. Mah’keet killed one real quiet, but then Robin got really excited, and so a bunch of them came after us.
We killed them all right up front, and then we explored a bit. Robin went to open some of the coffin things, and we went with her to make sure she was okay, cuz that place was spooky. In the coffins she found some gold and stuff, and these creepy zombie hands that attacked her, but she beat them up really easy. She’s super strong and brave and so she didn’t even flinch. I would’ve been really scared if those things crawled after me I think.
Then we went to the magic door Mah’keet wanted help with, and Edward was able to open it up really easy, cuz he’s super smart. Inside, there was a circle of glowing stuff on the floor, and it was one of the teleport circles, like the ones in Heathwell. But I guess this one is different, cuz it only goes to one place.
We were all looking at it, and we wondering if we should teleport. I didn’t wanna do it, cuz its kinda scary, just going to a new place totally alone. And I didn’t know if we could even come back. But I thought about it, and if I’m gonna be a brave adventurer, then I have to do scary dangerous stuff right? So I decided I’d jump right in.
Thankfully, it was safe, and I was just in a weird room with a bunch of blood everywhere. Cardinal came with me, which was really surprising. I didn’t realise he was brave too! But it was safe, so we went back through the circle and brought everyone with us.
We looked around the room, and I saw that one of the walls was actually a bricked up door, and Robin smashed it open super easy. But we decided not to go that way, cuz the hallway had a bloody trail on the ground. Robin said it was because a giant crushed a guy I think?
His body had a really sad note about some bad guys in the crypt, and that his friends got trapped somewhere, and how he was gonna die and stuff. I think we sent the note in, so you totally know what I’m talking about anyway.
We decided that even though the dead guy said that the stuff in here was spooky and dangerous, since we were totally strong adventurers and it was okay if we didn’t go in the rooms, we would keep exploring. We went into the next room, and there were a bunch more coffins. Robin did this rhymy thing to figure out which one to open, and opened one. But then they all opened, and more zombie guys got out.
They were a lot stronger, but we fought with them near the hallway, and we killed them all pretty fast anyway. Robin and Mah’keet did really good, but I was pretty worried about them, cuz they were all alone off to the side, and I couldn’t really see them, and I know they got hit a bunch, especially Robin. But she’s like crazy tough and didn’t even seem hurt!
After we beat them, we went into the other room, and there were a bunch of statues and a pool that Edward said tasted really gross. Then we realised it was a puzzle, and there was a metal thing on the wall with some words that was the riddle. I wrote it down, it said "Disturb not our rest." "Pauper to prince, take our hands, there is a pecking order in this world. Respect it and live well." I think the disturb rest part was probably about the coffins, but we did that already, so oops.
But the other part was totally about the statues, and we figured out that if you grabbed the hands of the statues in the right order, it made the pool glow. Then it tasted better, and it was magical healing water. We grabbed some, and they are like potions kinda. But it only works if you haven’t had some in a while.
We also found a magic axe in one of the coffins. I guess it's magic, but only if you’re missing an arm. Robin almost wanted to chop and arm off, and I think that’s probably a bad idea. But I don’t really get adventuring still, so I figured if she really wanted to do it, it's probably not that bad. She decided not to though, and I still think that was the right call.
After the magic water we decided to head back to town, cuz we were getting pretty tired and the enemies in there are supposed to be really tough, so we didn’t wanna keep going if they were gonna be too strong. So there’s still totally more to see in there, and we’ll definitely have to head back.
That’s pretty much it, thanks Orla!
