Leuggara the Devourer, the Beast with Ten Thousand Eyes, The Hunger as she is known, floated through the ether devouring anything and everything in her path, small stars or young godlings and small planets…all was fair game for her appetite. When she entered a new galaxy, a pantheon of deities awaited her, good and evil Gods united against a common threat. A battle that wracked the universe broke out and in the end, Leuggara was victorious, only barely. She had consumed and absorbed the gods but they in turn had wounded her grievously, her crimson blood painting the dark skies with fiery red stars.
She curled herself into a ball and stilled her body and willed herself to heal, slowing her heart so that it only beats once every thousand years while she convalesces. The divine essences of the defeated pantheon seeped into her as she slumbered and life began to sprout and grow upon her still over the millennia. The dead god of nature nourished trees and plants; the god of flame created molten rivers and volcanos; the god of life nourished the living things; the god of war gave them the skills to harness these gifts into weapons.
Leuggara sleeps oblivious to this all, but her latest heartbeat came 100 years earlier than the geomancers had predicted it would. Yes, she yet sleeps, but threatens soon to awaken, to resume her terror of the cosmos in her pursuit to sate her never-ending hunger, for now she not only eats for herself, but for the babies that stir within her womb.
