Sea-elves are generally Brightwater dwellers, though they occasionally settle as deep as the Gloomwaters , and have more interaction with those who drybreathe than most. However, there is also a reverence for the long-lived beings. They are not many in number compared to some of the races, but their lives stretch over multiple generations compared to others and they often find themselves as keepers of stories and lore with their long, keen memories. They generally prefer smaller communities, but there are a few exceptions. Most famous are the Conclave Supreme (shared with the Tritons), Sanerek Ath Ansrivarr, Hala Londe, and Peng-o Tinu.
Sea elves fell in love with the wild beauty of the ocean in the earliest days of the multiverse. While other elves traveled from realm to realm, sea elves navigated the currents and explored the waters of many worlds. Today these elves can be found wherever oceans exist, as well as in the Elemental Plane of Water.
Sea elves rarely build their communities inside of the Gloomwaters, and generally can be found in the Brightwaters. They will venture into the Inkwaters, but generally refuse to stay there for long.
Preferring small, rural communities, Sea elves are often a bridge between those on the land and those under the water. They generally do not invite drybreathers into their homes or communities, but will go to theirs for trade and entertainment. Sea elves generally have a similar family structure to their land cousins, pairing off with their preferred partners and raising their offspring, if any, together with general community's support. As births are rare, children are met with great joy and celebration, and will be spoiled by many until they reach adulthood. Sea half-elves are especially rare, as they generally refuse to live on land long enough to create such an offspring. There are a few large cities founded by sea-elves, but generally only for a very specific purpose.
