Sea Were-folk

There are many who bear the curse of were-ism, and under the waves of the ocean there are types never seen by those on land. As above, the strains cement themselves amongst the more carnivorous types, feeding into the lust for blood and death that the curse brings with it. The common types are dolphin, orca, sealion, seal, walrus and giant squid.

Things Everyone Knows (That May or May Not Be True)

Where the first were of the brine came from is a mystery lost to time, though it is often blamed on a sailor bringing the curse with them on an ill-fated voyage or a sea-born being stupid enough to wander on land for too long into a dangerous situation. However it migrated to the waters of the world, it has manifested in a different set of transformations than one would find on land. They do not have the same bloodlust as their landed counterparts, but they are known for having ravenous appetites at the height of their curse and can decimate shepherded schools of fish if in settled areas during that time. They are frequently migratory and keep to themselves. Their transformations are frequently modeled off of dolphins, orca, sealion, seal, walrus and giant squid. There are rumors of a were with the giantism in the lowest levels of the ocean, but they are unconfirmed.
