Inkwaters born, you are raised in the pitch-darkness of the deeps where the light of the sun has never reached and never will. While there is a plethora life down in those depths, it is often harsh and full of dangers. You have never seen or wished to see those who live above the waters, they are of no concern to you. You speak Lautan (ocean-common) and Primordial. You are not able to read, but you do have a basic pictographic language used to record things, including spells. You have Superior Darkvision OR standard Darkvision with 10 ft of Blindsight, but when exposed to the light of the sun you have disadvantage on all Perception and Insight checks, and in combat any ranged attacks will be made at disadvantage. This can be mitigated by protective eyewear or long exposure to the You are proficient in Stealth (a necessity this far down) and also likely bioluminescent mixed with a very dark coloration or gray/white. You cannot breathe air, and cannot survive on land for more than a few minutes without some kind of magical or mechanical intervention.
