Ovidius the Shoal-Master

The Fish Brother, Keeper of Shoals, The Gentle Guardian

oh-VIH-dee-us

the Shepherd of the Seas, who teaches how to husband the creatures of the depths well to maintain the balance and insure that all flourishes as it should.

A gentle presence, Ovidius' ways do not condone wanton violence or dominion by force and encourages the balancing the ecosystem and other more avoidant methods to grow your flocks without encouraging the presence of predators to the point that many of his methods include establishing your own flock of predators of a higher level to keep the other flocks safe from those poaching from the outside. (Land equivalent: turning wolves into dogs to protect your sheep from other wolves/bears/etc as a natural deterrent). Also things that naturally drive away predators (intermixing flocks that do and do not entice predators), giving your flock a place of natural security, and allowing a 'tithe' of poaching to allow the natural order to continue to exist within a safe balance. Many communities that try and live with their environment rather than against it have a shrine to Ovidius that is a community garden full of things to help protect their flocks. Working in it is considered part of the cycle of worship, and it is open for any who need it to use, including those passing through. Desecrating such a place that supports the lives of many is considered a killable offense.
