Eadro

Bather of Gills, The Deliverer, the Keeper of Sunlight Waters

ee-AH-droh (rhymes with Iago)

God of Locathah and Merfolk, known for being praised in song by their followers and overseeing their created peoples with a firm hand.

Merfolk - The merfolk who subscribe to the old ways worship Eadro with passion, making their supplications open to non-merfolk so that they might hear songs devoted to him. The songs and swimming dances they used in prayer changed with every season as well as during their numerous holidays. They were accepting of the differences in the locathahs' beliefs, but these beliefs were confusing to the merfolk. It is not uncommon for more rural groups of merfolk to have a laxer approach to their deities and direct relationship with them.

Locathah - The locathah worship him as The Deliverer of their people, though there are small sects that instead refer to him as The Crucible or The Refiner, instead preferring to look at their many years of captivity as allowed by Eadro so they may be strengthened, reshaped or purified in some manner. Only women are allowed in the clergy, and their religious practices are kept secret from all outsiders. Those who once spread the word that their scaley bodies compared to merfolk's smooth ones have since been cask aside as heretics, and though they are still generally unwelcoming of outsiders they strive to live in the balance and in acceptance of themselves as a worthy people of Eadro.
