Within a traveling village or nomadic community it is common to sing songs or dances or play games to amuse and draw the eye of the Water Lion, and those who wander in even smaller groups (explorers, adventurers) are sometimes known to wear a carved seal tooth or anything shaped into a seal as a good luck charm. His attention and favor can be fickle. He does not have an official clergy or order, and does not want one. Those who try to tie him to any set standard of anything can quickly find themselves a target of his disfavor. Spotting his glowing avatar (a large sea lion) while traveling is considered a sign of great luck and a promise of safety or good things to come. He delights in seeing new things and novelty in general, and a lover of a good laugh. Boisterous by nature, he occasionally forgets his own strength and it is not considered wise to get too close if one does encounter him in the vast ocean currents.
