These are the dangers of the deep
To protect yourself and those dear keep
From death and that which sleeps
These are the dangers of the deep
Beware the eyes that spark blue
For once caught, they will haunt you
Until two cycles one has passed
Or sever the cord that has been cast
When waters run red from north to south
The behemoths doth stir about
For hunger stirs them from their rest
To eat until their needs arrest
What once was yellow turns to gray
A wise one stays far away
The rot infects all that draw near
A fate the knowing always fear
Peer not into the silver hood
Unless great harm can be withstood
A mark to bear for all of time
A curse? A gift? A touch divine
When traveling over deepest pit
Near sunlit waters, do not submit
To thoughts of ease or dawdling through
The ones below, they will find you
Eat not the stew
Made by Lou
It sickens you
And is tough to chew
Do not waken that which sleeps
And instead choose to silently creep
About the one who slumbers deep
For once risen, we rue and weep
The trenches three are tricky paths
Most take the first, avoid the last
But here's the fastest way through
Take the last, and shine the blue
The brothers of the boiling reef
Are swindlers and open thieves
Of all who pass along their way
Avoid their path or curse the day
To greet those of the darkest deep
And be polite, then bare your teeth
Touch your hand to heart then nose
And show you are a friend, not foe
When one floats instead of swims,
It means they are sick within
Find the wise, take the cure
Or be tossed upon a barren shore
