These were said to be pyromamiacs many years ago, but after seeing the sprouting city of Gnode almost dying out during a particularly harsh winter, they stepped up and thawed the harbour, opening the waterway to sea for all the ships stuck in the ice to sail out to sea and resume their trading and fishing.
The Hearth Mages were treated with respect and their status still holds to this day. It has become tradition to watch them do their magic and a kids' tradition to bring a candle or lantern to 'help' them thaw the harbour.
The armada and bigger fishing vessels are now spread across the harbours of the isles but while the fishing vessels mainly reside on the western side of Innil, the armada's home base lies in Lupp, the military base turnt village on the southern tip of Tuol.
