Background

They say some nobody vanished the day the DEA caught him running guns. They say he's stuck in prison, rotting quietly in a cage he built with his own greed. The truth is darker, stranger, and forged in flames older than law or prison walls.

Not even Nobodies vanish. He was taken. The Dragon Queen plucked him from the grasp of the mortal world, choosing him not for kindness, but because she saw something she could mold. He was taken beneath the mountains of Arcadia, where gold runs molten, and shaped into Ash-Scale, the guardian of treasures he could never keep. Under her gaze, his greed turned to hunger, his ambition burned hotter than any forge, and his rage cracked the earth.

But Killian remembered the taste of freedom—and love. Mikaela had made him human once, long ago. Evelyn kept him human now. So when the Dragon Queen reached for his daughter, he defied the chains of Arcadia, burning through the Hedge itself to reclaim Mikaela and their family.

Now, he rules from Dominion, a rooftop club in Midtown Manhattan that’s half palace, half fortress. His empire moves guns, secrets, and whispers, but never lives. Beneath the sleek exterior lies a web of debts and promises, all leading back to the dragon himself. He's known as The Mad King, a street tyrant forged by fire, tempered by sacrifice, and hardened by secrets.

Personality
Killian Kingston is smoke and steel, fire wrapped in silk. He's calm, confident, and utterly controlled—until he's not. His anger isn't loud; it's quiet, contained, smoldering beneath9eaf82f8-83ea-422a-874b-9e8f40b83601.png a carefully measured voice. He respects strength, punishes betrayal, and rewards loyalty without question or hesitation. People don't cross Killian more than once. He doesn't waste threats; he makes promises. He doesn't scream; he commands. And when he smiles, you worry he knows something you don't—because he always does.

Yet, beneath the menace and control, Killian loves fiercely. Mikaela and Evelyn are his sanctuary, the hearth to his flame. Cross them, and there is nowhere in the world—or Arcadia—you can hide.

Description

To the mortal world, Killian Kingston is a force of nature wrapped in tailored suits and quiet menace. Tall and broad, his bearing demands attention without ever raising his voice. His dark hair, threaded with silver, frames a rugged face that somehow softens around family. Eyes like polished obsidian watch the world without blinking, absorbing details others miss. His voice, deep and resonant, makes orders sound like prophecy. Expensive watches and subtle rings decorate powerful hands that hint at danger, adorned by tattoos in metallic ink that catch firelight like molten metal beneath his sleeves.

Beneath the Mask, Killian becomes something more primal, something that belongs in legends whispered around frightened fires. His skin darkens to shimmering obsidian scales edged with veins of molten gold, hot and shimmering. Eyes become pools of liquid fire, reflecting hidden furnaces. His presence fills spaces, oppressive, suffocating, like standing at the mouth of a volcano that never quite erupts. Claws of polished black stone tip his fingers, each one capable of carving through metal and flesh alike. When angered, the air ripples with heat and the subtle roar of distant flame whispers from his throat.

Public Effects

Striking Looks 2 (Dominant Charisma): Killian carries himself like a king. You might forget his face, but you'll never forget how he made you feel: small, vulnerable, and strangely loyal.

Autumn Mantle 3: Shadows bend toward him, fire burns brighter, and fear takes physical shape when he's displeased. The air thickens and grows heavy, tasting faintly of smoke and metal.

Mystery Cult Influence (Wyrm's Horde) 5: His cult moves silently, bound by oaths and debts. When Killian speaks, they listen. When he commands, they act without hesitation.

Untouchable: Killian doesn't exist on legal radars, apparently.  He's a club owner and a business owner, a pillar of the community.  The neighborhood loves him, even if he's feared in equal measure.

Status 2 (Underworld): The Mad King deals in cash, cars, guns, jewelry and other shiny things through his various Pawn Shops:  Iron & Gold (Upper West Side) The high-end front, laundering money and securing rare artifacts. King’s Cash (Brooklyn): A street-level pawn shop, the center of his loan sharking and gun running. The Rusted Crown (The Bronx): The diamond exchange and hub for hot cars.

Court Goodwill (Summer) 2: Killian's bubbling core of Rage skews this Autumn to be more akin to a Mid-September Heat Wave.  Cross the Dragon and find out that he may not breathe fire anymore but he can still burn someone where they stand.
