Half-celestials are the rarest of children with extra-planar ancestry. They are the easiest to fly under the radar in appearance, especially with the disappearance of magic. Descended from a Valkyrie, a messenger of the Celestial realm, these children are blessed with unusual fortitude and metallic features, gold, silver, bronze, copper, etc. The Valkyries were a rare sight even before the Shattering, ethereally beautiful winged beings rumored to guide lost souls to the afterlife. They rarely manifested for mortals who weren't dead, but it wasn't unheard of for one to linger near the sight of a massacre or disaster, haunted and heartbroken.
Many were trapped during the Shattering, having come to guide the dead souls of the Euridaye Massacre, only to get trapped on the opposite side of the veil when magic was sealed. They were a prime target for the invading devils, who began to covet their blood highly for it's natural restorative properties. Though captured, many were kept alive for the purpose of using their blood, and those that could escape, found solace hiding in small corners of the world, feeling their bodies aging and slowly turning mortal with the lack of magic.
Before the Shattering, half-celestials were known to have strong healing abilities and were able to manifest angelic wings. The most notable mortal with celestial blood was Archamge Dralta, a powerful arcane wizard who was able to wield occassional healing magic as a result of her lineage.
Both Valkyries and their mortal children are currently hunted by the devils, clamoring to claim what magic remains in their blood.
