Tybalt was the third child of a king, and therefore not the first heir. BUT, his siblings tragically all died before reaching adulthood. His mother also passed away when he was only six.
Being an heir wasn't a concern for Tybalt. He didn't seem concerned with the complex political environment he was born into, maybe he was a little bit coddled about it, and instead poured his attention into a knight he met when they were both teenagers, which annoyed the dukes and earls of the kingdom, since this knight was not of equal dignities to them.
theres a lot of political bullshit in his life. btw. this is a short version of what happened:
lucky for tybalt he didnt have to wait long before his dad king died and he could be reunited with his boytoy, much to the chagrin of the other nobles.
it would be this obvious favoritism and the nobles own pride and classism that would seal the fate of the knight boytoy who was the fond affection of the now king tybalt. He would eventually be pushed into civil war to protect his knight boytoy, ended suddenly and dramatically by the execution of the knight boytoy, by a duke that the knight boytoy had called a Dog /insulting.
the rest of Tybalt's reign was rocky, and eventually he was forced to abdicate the throne by the same nobles. He would have been executed himself for his preference to his gay lover then to the nobles and his own kingdom even, but instead he managed to escape, but not without sacrificing more of himself.

He now seeks revenge on all the dukes and earls that were in on the plot to exile / kill his knight boytoy, thinking he'll never fall in love again, but then theres a little mutant dragonborn and :eyes:
