Just past the bend of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon sits the quiet, nondescript town of Golden Grove. It bears a small population of less than 2,000 residents, of which nearly 300 of are students at Crossroads College. Blink, and you'll miss it. It is both of The World, and of an Otherworld. For in this place, those who have been touched by The Gods have come to disappear.
They have come for their retirement from the life of Heroes and Demigods. They have come to avoid the gaze of their divine parents and patrons. They have come to raise families, run businesses, or to teach the next generation of Scions. They have come to simply...live.
That is not to say that the Gods do not know they are here. Indeed, the divine do make their own appearances now and again. They come to stake a claim on the Scions, to bring their gifts and then leave as swiftly and mysteriously as they arrived. They come to enjoy the isolation for themselves, to drink at the pub or take in a show at the theater. Visitations are uncommon, but not unexpected.
Golden Grove is a safe and secluded home for both those who are adventure-weary and those who seek to build their own Legend. But it is not without its own attachment to Fate itself. Every quarter century, the town faces a shift, a change, in what makes it unique. Each new generation leaves a stamp on the very infrastructure of Golden Grove itself.
And the Founding is looming close to it's 125th anniversary...
