Bayushi Tsubasa offered to assist the characters in surreptitiously entering the Shadowlands. Tsubasa’s motivation for this was simple: he had been posted to the Wall as punishment and the party represented an opportunity. As magistrates in Ryoko Owari he wished to gain their favor in the hope that they could utilize their influence to end his posting and return to the relative comfort and safety of a samurai’s life in the city.
While the party initially rebuffed his offer, Mirumoto Tetsuzae offered him a deal upon returning in order to gain a Scorpion ally in the city. He returned with the party.
