Known locally as "The Vermillion Crane" for his flamboyant and striking mode of dress.
A Crane merchant patron, Yasuki Takuma, was murdered in the street. He was making a great deal of money operating as the head of a Rokugani shell company that enabled the TRC to sell goods throughout the empire. Despite happening in broad daylight, nobody appears to have seen anything.
The day following the murder a sign was found placed at the nearby Temple of Bishamon stating:
“Takuma profited by acting as a puppet for the gaijin. That alone could not be ignored. Further, in an attempt to weaken our military might in the face of these invaders, he advocated against the Shogunate. Since he was an evil and heinous traitor, tenchu, heaven’s punishment, was inflicted upon him."
