A former student at the Isawa Academy, he left suddenly after an unfamiliar man showed him a vision of a great battle where an army of ronin fought beneath a banner bearing an unfamiliar wolf mon, telling him it was was his future if he should seek it. Yayu is one of the original twelve who stood by Toturi.
