The Two Gates neighborhood lies between the northeast wall of the city, down to the Gate of Increasing Fortunes (L18), then along Topaz Avenue to the Bay. It's home to a great number of "middle class" merchants - not as wealthy as those in Downhill or the Fields of Gold, but a cut above those in the Fisherman Quarter. This is where the better class of sake brewers, potters and artisans live. Shops here are usually highly specialized, and are often those that hold no interest for samurai - wheelwrights, paper mills, weavers of sails and coarse peasant garments. This is also a neighborhood of merchant inns, since it is close to the juncture between two major highways.
