As Imperial Minister for Gaijin Affairs she was responsible for outlining much of the recent policy towards gaijin. A position that was established in response to her instrumental role in opening the country in the first place. It's no surprise that this made her numerous powerful enemies and was ultimately responsible for her assassination by the man who has come to be known as the Azure Dragon of the East.
She was replaced by the former Underminister, Kasuga Hachiro.
