Slow Tide Harbor is a town, not a city, and does not have a fortified exterior wall. Beyond the core neighborhoods, the town sprawls into a series of residences interspersed with small shops of artisans and smiths. In contrast to traditional settlements, there is no clear delineation between the samurai neighborhoods and those of peasants. Surrounding the landward side of Slow Tide Harbor are the grain farms and rice fields which the peasant tend. These are actually fairly sparse compared to the size of the town. Slow Tide Harbor relies on trade to bring in the extra food it needs, and would be in serious trouble if its shipping was ever cut off.
